This is the month of October, about foundation, and this is the week of discipline. I think self discipline isn’t something we really talk about a lot; self knowledge we talk about, but self discipline is different, it’s about self control and about knowing yourself.
“To enjoy good health, to bring happiness to one’s family, to bring peace to all, one must first discipline and control one’s mind. If a man can control his mind he can find the way to Enlightenment, and all wisdom and virtue will naturally come to him.” – Buddha
Usually, I’m asked what are ways we can discipline our minds and still ourselves. Of course, it’s about getting still, and meditation is a huge part of that in my own life through Dip Into Bliss. It’s important to just get quiet, get still, and find wherever it is that stillness has that vibration for you. It could be on the busiest street, could be on the subway, where you just put on your headphones. I sometimes put on headphones with no music so that I can be still and listen to my own heartbeat and hear my own breath. Maybe you’ll tell me what you do because I’d love to know ways that you find stillness, too.
